It’s time for SXSW. It’s that time of year where tech geeks, music nerds, and big corporate brands all mix in Austin, Texas for SXSW 2015. A lot has changed over the years for one of the most important conferences of current culture, as SXSW has become a big revenue generating business. Brands are cashing in by attaching themselves to innovation and music, while the original independent feel of SXSW is slowly vanishing. There’s a reason why many local Austinites are becoming fed up with SXSW and some have even lobbied to have it move to a different city. At the end of the day, it does bring a lot annoying traffic to Austin, but the amount of money (and fun) it also carries can’t be easily replaced. A lot of influential tech and music brands are hosting events throughout the city, and here’s a list of events and parties we think could be awesome. Priority goes to those who have SXSW 2015 wristband and badges, followed by the general public. For such a chaotic event, RSVP doesn’t obviously guarantee entry so try your best to get to the venue and lines early if you don’t have a wristband or badge.
