Stella Artois is ready for the holidays. The Belgian beer brand teamed up with John Legend to create the first ever duet between a musical star and actual stars in space. The song, “Under the Stars”, is part of the Stella Artois “Give Beautifully” holiday campaign. According to scientists, stars produce very high pitch sound frequencies due to all the plasma interactions on their surfaces. Supposedly these sounds are 6 million times higher than any mammal can hear, so somehow Stella Artois was able to capture the distinct sounds of four different stars for “Under the Stars”. Who knew Stella Artois had access to highly sophisticated science equipment at their breweries.

“I’ve always been fascinated by space exploration, so being able to pair that interest with my passion for music makes this collaboration with Stella Artois such a special one,” says John Legend. “The sound of stars is ethereal and has this dreamy vibe, which inspired ‘Under the Stars,’ a song about spreading love and togetherness during the holiday season. I couldn’t think of a better way to gift my fans this year.”

Stella Artois will also give the gift of stars to New York City with an immersive and interactive light installation called “Stars” at the Skylight at Moynihan Station. John Legend will perform “Under the Stars” at the launch of the exhibit on December 9th. “Stars” will be open to the public for free until December 12th and you can reserve your spot here.
