In collaboration with Neymar Jr, Nike recently dropped a mixtape to celebrate the futbol star’s love for music and soccer. The Mixtape Volume 1 by NJR is a collection of 17 tracks that features artists from London, Paris, Barcelona and Rio De Janeiro, and is curated to capture the essence of Neymar Jr.’s game.

In 2012, Nike signed the 25-year-old Brazilian to one of the biggest sports endorsement deals ever ($105M), making him one of the faces of its Nike Soccer business. Soccer is the most global sports, so winning share in this market is key. However, the Swoosh is trailing adidas in global soccer-related sales. It’s been known for years that athlete endorsements move product, so ramping its connection with Neymar Jr. (and Cristiano Ronaldo) can help Nike gain share.
