Hypbeast caught up with notable Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami at his studio in Japan to talk about his ongoing partnership with Vans. The Vans Slip On are one of the most popular sneaker models ever and is almost an empty canvas for anyone to make their own. The shoe is one of Murakami’s favorites as he’s been through over 500 pairs in 10 years.
Murakami recently opened a new exhibition showcase “The Octopus That Eats His Own Leg” at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
