Los Angeles based artist Geronimo, aka Jihan Zencirli, partnered with the New York City Ballet to create an impressive balloon installation at the Lincoln Center. Thousands of compostable and biodegradable balloons will be the focal point of a series of installations in January and February.

As an artist, Geronimo strives to create emotional and physical spaces that can break up the monotony of a day and bring joy to others, and is most recognized for her work in her choice of balloons are her primary medium. “Balloons are only for a moment. They disappear and vanish. So rooted in my work is this reminder that you will only have this experience at this particular time. You’re here, you’re seeing it, you’re alive,” explains Geronimo.

She’s the first female artist to be selected for the New York City Ballet Art Series, which is in its sixth year. Check out the balloon installation in the below photo and watch Geronimo’s promo video below.
