No shoe has withstood the test of time, trends, and technology better than the Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars. Over 1 billion pairs of Chucks have been sold worldwide in its 98-year history, which demonstrates the sneakers ability to stay relevant across difference generations. With its simple and straightforward look, Chucks have ironically become an article of self-expression, acting as a blank canvas for the wearer to make his or her through customization or wear and tear.
Converse recently launched an initiative called “Made By You” which celebrates those individuals who have made Chuck Taylors a symbol of self-expression. Special edition Chucks will be released that pay homage to influential creative such as Andy Warhol and Futura. Additionally, Converse will be hosting a global celebration with activations in NYC, London, Beijing, and Mexico City. The NYC location will be a “Converse: A 360º Experience” where guests to virtually take a walk in someone else’s Chucks with the help of Google Cardboard.
“Converse: A 360º Experience” will be open to the public in Flatiron Plaza from March 2nd to 7th. You can pick up a pair of your own Chucks and start making them your own.
