Lucy Sparrow is a British contemporary artist who deals at the intersection of art and crafts, specializing in felt as her main medium. Recently she created a play off the staple corner stores in New York City by launching a “fauxdega” called Sparrow Mart, which featured thousands of hand-sewn “snacks” for sale. Sparrow has announced plans to take her Sparrow Mart to Los Angeles at The Standard Hotel in Downtown from August 1 to 31.. Visitors can purchase the 31,000 unique items, ranging from toiletries and food to VHS tapes, available for sale. More details can be found on The Standards website.
